| No matter how you slice it, foreclosed properties are a part of our real estate market, even here in the Lake Wallenpaupack area. The thing is, they always HAVE BEEN part of normal real estate goings on. The constant media attention and the sheer volume of them in some areas has simply made them more noticeable, to the point that everyone knows the word all too well.It is a terrible thing when someone loses their home or business, no matter what the reason. But it is ALSO a terrible thing when that home or business sits empty and creates a blighted neighborhood that affects everyone’s property values and quality of life. Abandoned homes and businesses can lead to, at the very least, less tourism and at worst, increased crime. So, it’s in everyone’s best interest to ensure that empty properties are sold as fast as possible.
Folks out there house hunting may be able to finally buy if a foreclosure is low enough, and business folks may consider opening another branch or a brand new enterprise if they can afford to buy the space they need. This benefits our communities in the Lake Wallenpaupack area immensely. |
